El Viaje

Me voy a Irlanda, a Dublin dentro de dos dias, estare fuera tres semanas y cuando voy a estar lejos de casa tantos dias me lleva siglos hacer la maleta.

Quince dias antes empiezo a pensar que me va a hacer falta, seis dias antes empiezo a hacer una lista y tres dias antes saco la maleta del garage, la pongo encima de la cama y empiezo a meter las cosas; como lo hago todo con tanta antelación hago y deshago la maleta cuarenta veces.Llevo ropa por si hace frio, por si hace calor, por si llueve por si me apetece hacer algo de deporte, por si tengo que salir una noche… el despertador por si tengo que levantarme temprano, un par de libros para leer, una guia del pais que voy a visitar, la camara, etc, etc.
Al final hay demasiadas cosas para una sola maleta y en el último momento decido llevar dos , saco todo otra vez y al final las dos maletas están llenas, parece imposible pensar que cuando llegues allí vayas a echar algo de menos pero la verdad es que siempre dejas en casa mas de una cosa que te hace falta y por supuesto hay doce o trece cosas que podias haber dejado en casa…. Justo todo lo que metiste en la segunda maleta

The Trip

I am going to travel to Ireland , to Dublin in two days. I will be away for three weeks and when I am going to be far from home so many days it takes me quite long to pack.
Fifteen days before I start to think about what I’m going to need six days before I start to write a list and three days before I take my suitcase out of the garage. I place it on the bed and I start to put things inside; as I do everything so early I pack and unpack forty times. I take clothes in case the weather is hot or cold and if it rains, clothes if I feel to do some sports or just to go out one night, the alarm clock to get up early, a couple of books to read, a guide of the country I’m going to visit, the camera and so forth.
At the end there are too many things for only one suitcase and at the 1last minute I decide to take another one , so I take everything out again and at the end the two suitcases are full, it seems impossible to think you are going to miss something when you arrive there but the fact is that there is always more than one necessary thing you forgot at home and of course there are twelve or thirteen things you could have left at home… just all you put into the second case.
