Podcast 92. Olimpiadas. Fiebre Olímpica (Escuchar/ Listen)
Resulta casi imposible no contagiarse de la “Fiebre Olímpica”. 250 países, aproximadamente 10,500 atletas, 28 deportes y 302 acontecimientos deportivos van a hacer muy difícil que nos mantengamos al margen de este evento veraniego.
Estos Juegos Olímpicos prometen llegar a ser unos de los más polémicos de la historia y China ha hecho un esfuerzo titánico para organizar este increíble espectáculo. No obstante los medios han estado más preocupados por los acontecimientos políticos y sociales que por lo que sucedería en las competiciones.
Sin embargo, creo que los “asuntos domésticos” han pasado a un segundo plano ahora que los juegos han comenzado.
Las televisiones, radios y periódicos de todo el mundo coinciden en afirmar que la ceremonia de apertura ha sido “El show más grande que se ha visto jamás”, fue visto por cuatro billones de espectadores y participaron en él 15,000 personas.
Pero, todo eso sucedió ayer y hoy todos queremos estar informados de los resultados, recuento de medallas, las últimas noticias… Los atletas parece que cada cuatro años corren más rápido, saltan más alto y son más fuertes batiendo records cada vez más imposibles.
Hay tantos deportes olímpicos que es imposible nombrarlos todos aquí, como también resulta imposible estar informado de todo. Cada uno seguiremos a nuestros equipos y atletas favoritos: Michael Phelps, Contador, Dara Torres, el equipo español de baloncesto, Nadal….
Sin duda todos acabaremos atrapados por la “Fiebre Olímpica”

It’s impossible not to be caught by the “Olympic Fever”. 250 countries, approximately 10,500 athletes, 28 sports and 302 events, it’s going to be tough to keep apart from this summer event.
These Olympic Games promise to become one of the most charged in history and China has made a herculean effort to prepare this amazing spectacle. Nevertheless the media have been more worried about political and social issues than for what would happen in competitions.
However, I think that “domestic issues” have passed to a second level now that the games have started.
Televisions, radios and newspapers all over the world agree about the opening ceremony as “The greatest show the world has ever seen”, it was seen by four billion people and envolved 15,000 people.
But, this happened yesterday and today we want to be informed about the results, the medal counts, last news.. Athletes, every four years, seem to go faster, to jump higher and to be stronger breaking impossible records.
There are so many olympic sports that it’s not possible to name all of them here and impossible to be up to date with all of them. We will follow our favourite teams and athletes: Michael Phelps, Contador, Dara Torres, the Spanish basket team, Nadal…
