Podcast 48. Gafas o Lentillas (Escuchar / Listen)

GLASSES OR CONTACT LENSES

I've been wearing glasses since I was 13, that’s all my life. I’m going to go to the optician because although I’ve had myopia and astigmatism since I was a teenager, I’ve noticed that I can’t see close up lately so I think I have hyperopic too.

I’ve been reading about the different kinds of eyeglasses lenses I don’t want to have to decide there without knowing what is the best for me.

I already know that there are concave lenses, thinnest in the centre, to correct myopia and convex lenses, thickest in the centre to correct hyperopic and cylindrical lenses to correct astigmatism. Here I started to get scared, concave, convex and cylindrical altogether in the same eyeglasses was too much and I started to imagine some glasses like milk bottle bottoms.

I decided to know more about contact lenses then and I know now that there are hard-lenses, soft lenses, semi-soft and flexible lenses. The idea stop using glasses and try contact lenses to see how I got on with them was appealing to me, but I would have to buy sunglasses to protect my eyes and my contact lenses.

I have started to think that this may be my ruin, after the weekend at the Spa, things are not very well from a financial point o view. We’ll see!!
